So, I just booked my roundtrip ticket to New York City, and the total cost of the trip was five dollars. I fool you not. I used a small portion of the many bonus miles I’ve racked up on my United Airlines Visa card. I can’t believe it. I saved over $350 simply by using a particular credit card.

What this means, of course, is that I have much more money to spend in the city with Romana and my other pals.

I finally spent the money to get a decent page on OneModelPlace.com. I’ll add an OMP banner to my MySpace page once I get a chance to design one. But for now, if you want to see the most comprehensive portfolio of my photography work currently on the web, please visit my…

So, after a hard-fought game of kickball, I decided to go home and crash for the rest of the night (sorry for missing your show, Hickories!). Anyway, I finally got to listen to MisShapes radio live via the Internet, so I took the opportunity to call in and request a song. The DJ was very polite, so thumbs up for that. Thumbs down for not having anything by Be Your Own Pet. But he did have Annie’s “Me Plus One.” Unfortunately, thumbs down again for not actually playing it…after he said he would. :(

If you want to hear some great indie rock played by the coolest DJs in New York City, check out this week’s MisShapes radio. There’s a new show available each Thursday. This is how I hear of all the coolest new indie bands. MisShapes is cool.

My friend Romana is going to take me to a MisShapes dance party, which is on Saturday nights, once I manage to get up to NYC. She knows the photographer. ;)

The only reason I continued with kickball this season was because several of my coworkers wanted to play. It turns out they signed up, but rarely make it out to any of the games.

A couple weekends ago, I skipped out on the 80’s Anti-Prom at the Black Cat to go to the kickball mid-season party (again, to help my co-workers get acclimated to the league). None of them showed up. I also didn’t connect with any of the other kickballers there (even though I’ve known some of them for several seasons).

That night, I decided kickball was no longer for me.

Adding fuel to the fire, I busted my ass to get to last Thursday’s game, but my team ended up having to forfeit, because not enough people showed up. Prior to this season, I had never forfeited a game. So far this season, my team has forfeited twice. Once more, and we’re automatically out of the playoffs. That was the last straw.

I have so much other stuff going on right now (photography, local music, etc.). There’s no use holding onto something that has become totally irrelevant to my life.

I’ll still play for my team to finish the season, but I’m done with everything else. After playing on five teams over four seasons, I’m officially done with kickball.

I went to College Park, Maryland last Tuesday to shoot a Niki Barr show. This was the first time I’ve seen her perform live. I actually considered it a warm-up for another show I’ll be photographing for her on June 2. College Park wasn’t too far away, so I decided to make the drive up.

Anyway, Niki rocks.
