Friday was another wine-tasting party. This time it was at Laura’s house in Sterling. The theme was “Think Pink” (i.e., rosé wine) in honor of breast month, or something.

Any excuse to drink with these particular winos is a good one. These wine parties are now a can’t-miss event in my calendar.

The evening started out as per usual. I showed up at 8:30 PM and met a lot of folks I didn’t know (with the exception of Laura and Sarah, who co-hosted the last event). Kelli showed up a little later.

Two of the girls I didn’t know were selling Mary Kay products. I think they knew right away that I wasn’t going to buy anything, so they kinda passed me over with their catalogs and order forms. It’s just as well. I don’t think I’m really the Mary Kay target audience anyway.

There was only one other guy there. His name was Hillary. Again, this was fine with me. Eight girls and two guys sounded like a good mix.

As the wine bottles emptied and the conversation got louder and less loquacious, several girls left, including Kelli. The remainder of us (Laura, Sarah, Hillary, and myself) watched “10 Things I Hate About You” twice and moved onto other beverages (namely Vodka). Glass shattered near the fireplace… There was a heart-to-heart talk in the kitchen… Then there was some passing out on the couches.

Sometime around 3:30 AM, I got up and made the 10 minute drive home.

So, I joined Match.com for the hell of it this week and I was surprised to see fake, spammer accounts on there (especially considering it’s a pay site).  Anyway, the below email chain speaks for itself…

Nothing personal, but your profile seems really generic. You’re seeking men 22-70 years old? Really? And you have no preference in the kind of guy you want to meet?
Hmm…

Actually, the point of my previous email was that I don’t know much about you from your profile. My profile speaks volumes about me. I guess you could say I’m skeptical of the validity of your account. I have a feeling that if I continue emailing you, you will ask me to start emailing you at a third party address or direct me to your website with lots of naughty pictures and videos.
Is your account for real?
